Good ways to use it

- Understanding a worked example or a step in your textbook
- Turning a lesson into a summary and a practice quiz before a test
- Getting feedback on a draft you wrote
Not okay
- Tests, exams and quizzes where outside help isn't allowed
- Turning in AI-written work as your own when your class doesn't allow it
- Any use your teacher or school has ruled out

What we built in
Rules that are part of the product, not just the fine print.
It only looks when you ask
VeilGPT sees a page only when you press the camera or snap an area. It doesn't read or record pages in the background.
It never fills in or submits answers
VeilGPT shows an answer and explains it. You decide what to write and what to turn in.
Study sessions skip quizzes and tests
Study sessions are for lesson and textbook pages. They stop on anything that looks like a quiz, test or assignment, and auto-read only presses Next or Continue.
Writing help is feedback
For essays, VeilGPT points out what to improve instead of writing it for you.
No proctoring workarounds
We don't build ways around LockDown Browser or other exam proctoring, and we won't.
Your school's rules come first
Our terms ask every student to follow their school's and teachers' rules on AI. If AI isn't allowed, don't use VeilGPT.

Questions about academic integrity
Is using VeilGPT cheating?
It depends on how you use it and what your class allows. Using it to understand homework, check your work or study is like working with a tutor. Using it on a test or turning in its work as your own where that isn't allowed is cheating, and our terms don't permit it.
Does VeilGPT work in LockDown Browser or on proctored exams?
No. LockDown Browser blocks extensions, and we don't build workarounds for it or any other proctoring tool.
Will VeilGPT answer quiz questions in a study session?
No. Study sessions only summarize lesson and textbook pages and write their own practice questions. If the pages look like a quiz, test or assignment, the session stops and says so.
How should I use it so I actually learn?
Try the problem first. Snap it when you're stuck or to check your answer, read the step you missed and the key idea, then do a similar problem without help.
